Remuneration of council members

Council members are paid in compliance to the Wages for elected municipal representatives Act, that regulates the remuneration of elected Article 2 of the Act provides that the council of a municipality may, by regulation, fix the remuneration of its mayor and its other members. To this end, on March 7, 2016, City Council adopted by-law 878-2016 on the treatment and reimbursement of expenses of members of council.

(1) The additional remuneration of the mayor is $400 per regular meeting which he attends. The councillors are paid $133,33 per regular meeting which they attend.
